BOOK REVIEW 24 - HOLD ME CLOSER by DAVID LEVITHAN #2 Will Grayson, Will Grayson

22736613

SYNOPSIS:

It’s Tiny Cooper’s turn in the spotlight in this companion novel to New York Times bestseller Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Jazz hands at the ready! Tiny Cooper (“the world’s largest person who is also really, really gay”) stole readers’ hearts when he was introduced to the world in the New York Times bestselling book Will Grayson, Will Grayson,co-authored by John Green and David Levithan. Now Tiny finally gets to tell his story—from his fabulous birth and childhood to his quest for true love and his infamous parade of ex-boyfriends—the way he always intended: as a musical! Filled with honesty, humor, and “big, lively, belty” musical numbers, the novel is told through the full script of the musical first introduced in Will Grayson, Will Grayson

THE REVIEW :

I couldn't put this book down. I enjoy reading LGBTQ books because it's a different genre all together and you get to understand how the character feels.

I loveeeeeeeee Tiny Cooper. Yes, he is fictional but if he existed I would want him to be my best friend. He is funny, cute and so honest. He doesn't hold back.

I am so proud of David Levithan! I enjoyed Will Grayson, Will Grayson, but I loved this one more. So innovative and beautiful. I am a sucker for rhyme scheme hence all the praise.

FAVORITE QUOTES/ LINES:

I loved every word, every sentence, everything about this book including the front and back cover. So I randomly picked a few quotes and lines which I thought you would like too.

“This should be the most homoerotically charged baseball dance number since “I Don't Dance” in High School Musical 2.”

“It’s always easy to blame other people for holding you back. But sometimes, the only person holding you back is . . . well . . . you.”

“LYNDA (TO TINY):
Look forward to the moment
when it falls apart.
Look forward to the
moment
when you must
rearrange your
heart.

It might feel like the
end of the world-
but it's the
beginning of your
art.”

"But no relationship should rely on you blocking out the world. The world will always get in.”

HAVE YOU READ THE FIRST BOOK?

I strongly recommend reading Will Grayson, Will Grayson first. I have already reviewed that masterpiece.

DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE GENRE :

Just do yourself a favor and buy the book.

X HAPPY READING FOLKS ! X
